 TEFL International, “where the world is your classroom”, is a non-profit international training organization creating intercultural opportunities for our customers through numerous educational and multicultural services such as: teacher education; language training; camps; internships and much more. We strive to be a fun, creative, responsive, culturally sensitive, high value company focusing on individual growth, customer satisfaction and helping the world communicate better by providing valuable experiences and skills for those in need and for those seeking to change and improve their lives.

TEFL International Oversight
A Board of Academic Advisors externally validates and moderates TEFL International and includes internationally recognized experts in the field of English teaching as well as locally-situated English school managers at TEFL International locations around the world.

All TEFL International courses meet current international standards (over 6 hours of observed teaching practice and over 100 hours of classroom time). Our courses maximize the cultural experiences of our students and provide multi-cultural interaction and learning opportunities for those in need.

Do you need university credit? Would
you like to use this as a term-abroad? YOU CAN! We can contact your university
to discuss possible accreditation with your university advisor. And all of our
programs have been evaluated by Dr, Bill Leon who is, among other things,
teaches Program Evaluation at the University of Washington. Just Email us if you

The founder of TEFL International, Mr. Veldhuisen was previously Course Director of language schools and TESOL courses in Hong Kong and Thailand for eight years before founding the world´s largest teacher training institute and becoming a well-known name in the industry. He holds a Masters in Business Administration, A Bachelors of Science in International Relations and Economics and is a certified Trinity College London teacher. Mr. Veldhuisen is committed to growth and helping others, but maintains a down-to-earth approach that keeps him personally involved with TI´s programs, customers and employers – a characteristic Mr. Veldhuisen has carried over into TEFL International´s mission and one of the cornerstones of our success.

As the director of TEFL International´s academic programs around the world, Mr. Hopkins holds a Master´s degree in TEFL and in Intercultural Management from the school of International Training. He has taught , developed, managed and trained teachers in language programs in Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and Asia for over three decades. His most recent position before coming on board with TEFL International was the course director at the AUA Language centre in Bangkok. Keeping up with changes in the industry and methodologies, Mr. Hopkins has helped bring TEFL International into the forefront of the industry with his experience and insightful knowledge.
ALL TEFL International TESOL certificate courses worldwide fully meet British Council criteria for employment within the British Council and at British Council-accredited language schools.

After quickly becoming one of the largest and most successful Trinity courses in the world, TEFL
International becomes independent. |

Dec 2000 |
University of Washington becomes the first US university to grant credit to matriculated students for completion of the TEFL International course. |

May 2001 |
TEFL International opens a center offering TESOL Certificate courses in
Zhuhai, PRC, in cooperation with the Gateway Language Village. |

Nov 2001 |
Ban Phe course doubles its capacity to allow as many as 32 students to study
on two simultaneous courses. |

Feb 2002 |
Via Lingua Phuket changes its affiliation and
becomes a TEFL International course. |

Mar 2002 |
TEFL International begins preparations to open three courses in the summer of 2002 |
