TEFL International and the Vietnam USA Society Language School successfully
hosted the First Annual TEFL International / VUS Vietnamese TESOL
Conference at the Majestic Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City on July 22, 2006.There was an overwhelming response from Vietnamese English teachers and more than 200 people attended the event, which was partially sponsored by Oxford University Press and Pearson Longman Press.
Dr. Alan Maley was the keynote speaker and gave a wonderful talk on: Creative Reading and Writing in the classroom. Bruce Veldhuisen from TEFL International spoke about the TEFL industry in general, and interesting talks were also given by Stephen Thomas of VUS, Michael Watson from RMIT and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An.
The event was such a success that there has been a great demand for this year’s Second Annual TEFL International / VUS Vietnamese TESOL Conference in Ho Chi Minh City on July , 2007 at the Majestic Hotel once again. The coordinators, Phil Nash and Ms. Tran Nguyen Hoai Chi, expect to draw an even bigger crowd with Dr. Richard Day as the keynote speaker.
